1. ALL custom order payments ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
I am a home baker ie a small bakery, not a bank. While we are happy to apply your payment to store credit to a future order, we do not offer cash refunds for any custom orders. From the minute you place your order, we immediately make a number of investments to ensure your cake is complete, some of which include: turning down other potential orders, scheduling bakers and decorators, spending a lot of time properly planning your design execution and purchase of tools and supplies needed.
When you make a deposit or payment for a cake, it is a commitment on your behalf and we will do so, just as you must oblige us to fulfill our commitment to deliver your cake as promised.
2. Until you make your $100 deposit, we cannot guarantee availability for your date.
When placing your order, to secure your place on our schedule, we request a NON-REFUNDABLE date deposit of $100. Making this deposit guarantees that we will be available to bake your cake on your chosen date.
Date deposits will go towards the final purchase of your cake, and do not represent any additional cost.
The cake design does not need to be finalized before placing a date deposit. We can work on the remaining details after the deposit is made, as long as all details are finalized no later than 7 days before the event date.
3. All payments MUST be made according to schedule or we may not be able to make your cake.
As we’ve stated before, creating custom orders requires a substantial investment of time on our behalf, and failure to meet payment deadlines exposes us to losses we can’t afford as a small, independent bakery. Therefore, if you don’t pay for your order as scheduled, we may not be able to finish your cake.
For large custom orders, such as wedding cakes, half payment is due two months prior to the event date, and the full balance is due two weeks prior to the event date. For smaller custom orders, full payment is due one week prior to the event date.
